Where are CI heading to?

Creative Industries are moving up or have been on top of the list of many policy makers. This "success story" has been neither slowed down by the vague empirical foundation of the concept, the absence of a widely accepted definition of creative industries, the obvious conflicts between cultural policies and CI policies (the latter aim at reinvigorating or stimulating growth, improving competitiveness of downstream industries, or more sustainable framework conditions for CI enterprises themselves), and the obviously differing approaches of policy makers.
